While Sudan dominates global production with approximately 70%, Nigeria, alongside other African nations like Mali, Senegal, Chad, and Niger Republic, contributes the remaining 30%.

Harvesting and Collection:

Harvesting takes place during the dry season, typically from October to June, as gum formation is inhibited during the rainy season when trees are in full bloom. Gum collection occurs every ten days during this period, with harvested resin transported from farms to local villages before reaching the market.
